Welcome to Not So Unusual

This is my first attempt at a blog, so laugh along with me as I share my thoughts and experiences related to all things teaching, mom life, wife reactions, and so much more. During this time of uncertainty I have been spending my time (mainly when I am supposed to be digitally educating your children) avoiding my family. I put together mini baskets of cheer and I drive around for hours delivering them. I believe in kindness; To others, to myself (i'm working on it) and to the world.
I told my husband I wanted to start writing, blogging; I told him my favorite part of college newspaper was writing the Opinion/Editorial every week. I got to put pen to paper and just be myself. No one "knew" me. I was always the self-conscious fat kid in college, so I liked being able to be me when others weren't watching, and silently judging, obvs!
So here I am. A 40 year old, twice married (only once divorced, so far) mom of 2. I am a middle school English teacher and spent some time in drug and alcohol counseling. I am out of shape, unmotivated to currently change that, and embarking on a new venture into blogging. Whatever that means.
My working name, So Unusual. Life is so unusual at times, yet in reflection, not so unusual. Often we think we are alone in our thoughts and feelings. Secretly whispering to your hubby that your happy it's your daughter's weekend with her dad, because one more sassy-ass side glance sigh is about to turn you into a raving lunatic, is NOT SO UNUSUAL. I hope you will join me on my journey and discover for yourself that it's not so unusual.
